FRP Finish Information

FRP body parts are manufactured differently from injection-moulded plastic parts and may display minor surface imperfections from the manufacturing process.

The components are supplied unpainted and require appropriate preparation before painting.

We recommend test-fitting all wide body components before carrying out final preparation or painting to make sure they fit correctly, line up evenly and sit in the correct position.

Professional preparation and painting by an experienced automotive body shop are recommended.

Modifications Required

Please be aware that permanent modifications to the vehicle are required to install this wide body kit.

Installation requires:

• Cutting of the front wheel arch areas
• Cutting of the rear wheel arch areas
• Drilling of mounting holes
• Installation of rivet nuts
• Suitable mounting screws / fixings
• Alignment and adjustment of the wide body components
• Bodywork preparation before painting

This is not a simple bolt-on cosmetic accessory and professional installation is strongly recommended.

Installation

Before any permanent modifications are made, all wheel arch and side skirt components should be temporarily positioned on the vehicle using masking tape.

Check the positioning, symmetry and alignment of each component carefully.

With the wide body components temporarily fitted, mark the areas of the original front and rear wheel arches that require cutting.

Remove the wide body components before carrying out any cutting.

Cutting of the original front and rear wheel arch areas is required for installation.

Using the marked areas as a guide, carefully cut the required sections of the vehicle body.

Once the cutting work has been completed, reposition the wide body components and check the fit and alignment again.

Mark the locations where mounting holes are required.

Remove the components and drill the required mounting holes in the appropriate locations.

Drilling is required to install the wide body kit.

Rivet nuts should then be installed at the appropriate mounting points.

Reposition the wheel arch extensions and side skirt components, align the mounting holes and secure the components using suitable screws and the installed rivet nuts.

Before fully tightening the fixings, check that the front arches, rear arches and side skirts are positioned evenly and aligned correctly on both sides of the vehicle.

The fixings should then be tightened securely without overtightening or damaging the FRP components.

Any exposed metal created during cutting or drilling should be appropriately treated and sealed as part of the professional bodywork installation process to help protect against corrosion.

Because installation involves cutting the vehicle body, drilling, rivet nuts, mechanical fixings, body preparation and painting, professional installation by an experienced automotive body shop is strongly recommended.
