The extensions are supplied with a black FRP surface finish. They are not painted gloss black and, as with FRP body parts, minor surface imperfections may be present. Preparation and painting are recommended if you require a smooth, refined painted finish.

FRP Finish Information

FRP body parts are manufactured differently from injection-moulded plastic parts and may display minor surface imperfections from the manufacturing process.

The side skirt extension blades are supplied with a black FRP finish rather than a painted gloss black finish.

If you are happy with the supplied appearance, the extensions can be installed as they are. For the best cosmetic finish, preparation, surface finishing and professional painting are recommended before installation.

We recommend trial-fitting all FRP parts before any preparation or painting work is carried out.

Installation

The side skirt extension blades must first be positioned and trial-fitted against the vehicle to confirm fitment, alignment and equal positioning on both sides before permanent installation.

Once the extensions are correctly positioned, the mounting points should be marked carefully.

Drilling is required to install these side skirt extension blades.

Suitable holes must be drilled through the appropriate mounting areas so that the extensions can be secured using automotive screws.

Automotive-grade silicone adhesive must also be applied along the appropriate contact areas between the side skirt extension blades and the vehicle to provide additional support and secure the installation.

Once the silicone has been applied, position the extensions correctly and secure them using the required screws.

Before fully tightening the fixings, check that both extension blades are positioned evenly and correctly aligned along the vehicle.

The screws should then be tightened securely without overtightening or damaging the FRP components or the vehicle’s existing side skirts.

Any excess silicone should be removed before it cures to maintain a clean installation.

The automotive silicone must be allowed to cure according to the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions before the vehicle is driven, washed or exposed to severe weather conditions.

Because installation requires drilling, screws and automotive-grade silicone adhesive, professional fitting by an experienced body shop or automotive technician is strongly recommended.
