Preparation and Painting

The bumper skin is supplied unpainted and requires preparation before painting.

We strongly recommend removing or preparing the supplied surface coating as required and carrying out the appropriate body-shop preparation before applying primer, basecoat and clear coat.

The bumper should always be trial-fitted to the vehicle before painting so that fitment, mounting points and alignment can be checked first.

Professional preparation and painting by an experienced automotive body shop are recommended.

Installation

The original front bumper must be removed before the RS3-style conversion bumper can be installed.

The replacement bumper should first be trial-fitted to confirm alignment with the wings, bonnet, headlights and existing mounting points before preparation or painting is completed.

Please be aware that the vehicle’s horns may need to be repositioned to provide sufficient clearance for the RS3-style front bumper conversion.

Any wiring, sensors or other components attached to the original bumper should be disconnected carefully and transferred or reconnected as required during installation.

Once correct alignment has been confirmed, the bumper and supplied components can be secured using the appropriate vehicle mounting points and suitable fixings.

Professional installation by an experienced body shop or automotive technician is strongly recommended.
